This livejournal community [link] is holding a fandom charity auction to help Haiti. You can help by bidding or by putting your work/commissions up for auction. Even if you don't have the time or the ability to create fanworks, you can auction off just about anything that's collecting dust in your closet... Possibilities are endless!
Some of the random things people are auctioning off:
-tarot readings
-mail for a year
-postcards every month
-"boxful of [insert country/state/city]"
-food
-knitted/crocheted stuff
-icons/wallpapers/other graphics
-Neopoints
-jars full of paper stars
-professional services (tax returns, editing research papers, etc.)
-audio fics
-tutoring for different subjects
-beta reading
-random stuff they don't want anymore
If you're interested, I put an art commission up for auction. It can be fanart or original art. Starting bid is $20 (but someone has already bid so you'd have to bid at least $21). To bid, go here: [link] reply to my comment with your bid.
Edit: I'm now also offering one index card sized artwork, along with a message of some sort and possibly other random stuff, every month for a year. [link]
The auction ends at noon on January 20. All the proceeds go to the charity of your choosing. So let's prove wrong every person that ever said fandom is a waste of time!
